2013 was quite a year! At the beginning of the year I was unemployed finishing school and at about the lowest point I have ever been. I had a few leads for employment but it was an email out of nowhere that ultimately caught my attention. A baptist church on James Island was looking for their next Family Pastor and after some incredible meetings I became the new Family Pastor at James Island Baptist Church. My wife got a job teaching at James Island Middle and my kids absolutely love the island life.
I finished my bachelors degree this year, a project sadly to say took me this long but I finished it nonetheless. I look forward to 2014 with a joy and hope that I haven’t felt in a long time. I really believe that this can be the best year ever. I can see that it will come with some challenges. My pop’s health is deteriorating, my daughter will begin Middle School in 2014 and I will turn 40. However, I have a renewed fire in my spirit for the church and ministry and my family is healthy spiritually, emotionally and physically. I love my church, my pastor and my new friends.
2014…is gonna be a great year.
Psalm 139 says that the Lord knows everything about us before we make the first move and that knowledge is too wonderful for us to handle.
I am believing that God has a plan for me and it is a great plan, a fun plan, an adventure…I am simply going to submit to him and follow his plan.
He holds 2014 in his hands. Let’s go enjoy it.
